Abstract

People have a strong latent desire to participate in sports, but many people do not get the chance because of three major issues: it is challenging to find suitable venues to play, it is challenging to connect with teammates or opponents who have similar sports interests, and it is challenging to discover a sporting event nearby. Also, one of the biggest obstacles in scheduling a sporting event is attracting as many participants as possible, as this has a significant impact on the outcome of the competition. In this paper, a mobile application using Java and Firebase for database and authentication purposes is created in Android Studio, which solves these issues by creating a mobile application that allows users to organize and discover nearby sporting events. This application will increase user interaction and alert users to events they have joined, and upcoming events based on their interests. To access the application, users must register. After logging in, the user will have access to the application where they may organize or discover events. The application will prompt the user to complete the necessary fields for event organization, including the participant’s name, the event’s location, the event organizer’s contact information, and the entry fee.
