Abstract

This research was based on a pre-observation at the STIT Syekh Burhanuddin Pariaman. Which, the students were from difference background of education in high school, consisted of general schools and from religion schools, and actually they did not have clear orientation about self capabilities, self perception, personalities, learning, social and career with career they pursue. The purposes of this research were to described contribution self efficacy and self concept to career readiness and described the difference of self efficacy, self concept and career readiness among the students. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionaire and self efficacy scale adopted from Bandura, which was the validity and reliability has been tested. The data were analyzed by comparing means with independent sample t test and regression technique.

KONTRIBUSI EFIKASI DIRI DAN KONSEP DIRI TERHADAP KESIAPAN ARAH KARIR MAHASISWA

Abstrak This research was based on a pre-observation at the STIT Syekh Burhanuddin Pariaman. Hal yang menjadi perhatian adalah bagaimana kondisi efikasi diri mahasiswa tersebut, bagaimana kondisi konsep dirinya yang nanti berimbas pada sejauhmana kesiapan diri mereka akan arah karir untuk menjadi pendidik agama Islam. Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) (2012) menjelaskan bahwa kesiapan karir itu melibatkan tiga skil utama yaitu akademik dan abilitas untuk mengaplikasikannya, dalam bekerja (berfikir, bertanggung jawab sesuai dengan karir nantinya) serta teknis yang berhubungan dengan keahlian khusus yang dimiliki oleh pekerja. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa STIT Syekh Burhanuddin Pariaman mulai dari angkatan 2009-2011, dari semester III, V dan VII yang totalnya sebesar 780 orang, yang terdiri dari 480 orang berlatar belakang pendidikan sekolah umum dan 300 orang berlatar belakang pendidikan sekolah agama.
