Abstract
In my paper I examine the presence of contact improvisation in Hungary between 1986 and 2016. I divide the more than thirty years after the emergence of the dance style into four periods. The resulting thematic units partly follow one another chronologically, and are partly tied to significant individuals, educational programs, and community events. This work serves as a starting point for a complex and deep examination of the cultural history of contact improvisation in Hungary.
