Abstract

The paper presents the theoretical basis of the STEM concept. It characterizes STEM and its use within the educational process for pupils with special educational needs. The paper presents several research findings that present the results of the application of the STEM concept in the educational process for students with special educational needs in Indonesia, for students with learning disabilities (LD) and attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), support for students with disabilities and limited knowledge of English and professional development of teachers within the use of the STEM method during the educational process and others. The conclusion of the paper is dedicated to the possibilities of using STEM in the future within the educational process of students with special needs.
