Abstract

The subject of the paper is an assessment of the possible replacement of the original diesel hydrodynamic drive of the 861 series units with hydrogen fuel cell propulsion, a description of the original traction chain, the design of the new components including their spatial arrangement, mass balance and a summary of the advantages, disadvantages of the conversion, including an evaluation of the problematic nodes and solutions.
