Abstract
Abstract social competence is one’s capability in communicating and intreraction in order to create good coordination with theenvirontment. The school counselors are expected to have a good term with the school environment whether it is inside or outside the school. However, based on the pre-observation, this is not really applicable. There are no good cooperation between the school counselors and the school environment. This study was conducted to describe the social competence of school counselors based on internal collaboration in the work place, the role in the organization and guidance activity and inter-professional collaboration. This study was categorized as quantitative-descriptive research. The subject of 71 school counselors at Senior High School in Padang with bachelor degree title in guidance and counseling major. The result of the study revealed that the social competence of the school counselors was considered good. Keyword: social competence, guidace and counseling teacher/school counselor

Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik deskriptif, diperoleh keterangan mengenai kompetensi sosial guru BK/Konselor sekolah yang terdiri dari beberapa indikator yang telah dijelaskan pada tabel di atas, sehingga diketahui bahwa pada indikator kolaborasi intern di tempat kerja skor rata-rata 3,01 dengan persentase 75,2% berada pada kategori cukup baik. Guru BK/konselor sekolah SMA Negeri Padang sudah melakukan kolaborasi yang baik di tempat bekerja yakni dengan kepala sekolah,wakil kepala sekolah, wali kelas, guru mata pelajaran dan staf administrasi sekolah. Perlu adanya kolaborasi atau kerjasama oleh guru BK/konselor sekolah dengan pihak lain di tempat kerja seperti wali kelas, guru mata pelajaran, kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah dan staf administrasi sehingga pelayanan BK dapat berjalan optimal. Untuk meningkatkan pelayanan bimbingan konseling di sekolah guru BK/konselor sekolah perlu melakukan kerjasama dengan berbagai pihak baik di sekolah maupun diluar sekolah atau profesi lain. Mamat Supriatna (2011:74) Konselor perlu melakukan konsultasi dan kolaborasi dengan guru, orangtua, staf sekolah lainya, dan pihak insitusi di luar sekolah (pemerintah dan sewasta) untuk memperoleh informasi dan umpan balik tentang layanan bantuan yang telah diberikan kepada para siswa, menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang kondusif bagi perkembangan siswa, melakukan referal, serta meningkatkan kwalitas bimbingan dan konseling. Selain perlu bekerjasama dengan personil sekolah guru BK/konselor sekolah perlu juga melakukan kerjasama dengan pihak lain diluar sekolah karena ada beberapa masalah klien yang tidak dapat dientaskan sendiri oleh guru BK/konselor sekolah sehingga perlu dialih tangankan atau bekerjasama dengan profesi lain
