Abstract

The article examines the conditions of possibility under which artificial intelligence as rational agents can have individual rights. With recourse to model-theoretical anal- yses, a general model of an order is described that enables the reduction of deontic state- ments to alethic statements. Within the framework of the model, it is examined what can be a possible norm addressee of a norm and what is to be understood as an individual right within the model. This is followed by a presentation of the possibilities of artificial intelligence to be a norm addressee and bearer of individual rights in the sense of the model, with recourse to specialist literature on information technology.
