Abstract

AbstractOutgoing from the VLASOV‐equation and a modified VLASOV‐equation the dispersion relations ω = ω (f) of quasi‐particles in dense classical systems are investigated. Based on MAXWELL'S equilibrium distribution all eigenvalues ω of the linearized equations have a negative imaginary part so that the corresponding quasi‐particles have finite lifetime. In the limit f → 0 the velocity of sound is determined as criterion for the validity of the obtained dispersion relations.
