Abstract
The rapidity with which new volumes of Postgraduate Courses in Pediatrics appear is impressive, and is to be credited to the proficient and industrious editor of this series, Professor E. Rossi of Berne, Switzerland. Volume 19, Disturbances of Carbohydrate Metabolism, consists of nine chapters, two written in French and seven in German. The purpose of this booklet is to acquaint the practitioner with some of the newer aspects of carbohydrate metabolism disturbances. Some of these disturbances (notably the glycogenoses, disaccharidase deficiencies, and monosaccharide malabsorption syndrome) have been omitted from the discussion.
