Abstract

AbstractThis paper first introduces a value creation spiral model of converting data and information into knowledge and creating valuable ideas, followed by explaining the action guidelines of the four processes of the model. It defines the theories and tools used in these processes as knowledge technologies and considers future challenges in developing knowledge technologies. This paper then considers the knowledge system that promotes interaction between codified and personalized knowledge and creates ideas for solving a specific problem. It discusses the methodology to build a knowledge system that uses mathematical or intelligent knowledge technologies and participatory knowledge technologies in a mutually complementary manner. Finally, this paper introduces a book that is currently under editing. After detailed definitions of knowledge technology and systems, it will describe knowledge technologies that the members of this academic society are developing. We hope that this book will stimulate discussions about the direction and challenges of the Society.KeywordsKnowledge technologyMathematical and intelligent technologyParticipatory technologyKnowledge systems
