Abstract

A great variety of jobs are performed in health care facilities including direct patient care, laboratory and research, work, laundry, food preparation, rends, security work, waste disposal, housekeeping, etc. Hospital waste management is a part of hospital hygiene and maintenance activities. The inefficient handling of biomedical waste management is more likely to cause health problems. Sanitary health care are in close touch with waste. The objective of the study is to assign the level of knowledge on bio medical waste among the sanitary health workers, secondary to associate the level of knowledge with demographic variables of Sanitary Health Workers. A descriptive research design was used. The sample was 40, non probability sampling technique was used. Data was collected through interview of questionnaire method. Data was enveloped by using descriptive and inflectional statistics. The truth reveals only 50% have adequate knowledge and 38% have moderate and no association between level of knowledge with the demographic variables.
