Abstract

Knowledge is a strategic and valuable resource for reducing risk and damages and increasing resilience against disasters. More knowledge and a deeper understanding of COVID-19 might affect how we react to this disease and other pandemics in the future. Therefore, the successful and extensive implementation of knowledge management and paying attention to all related processes will help us in managing and dealing with such crises. This study's goal is to look into and assess how knowledge management is being used in dealing with the crisis of the COVID-19 epidemic in Iran and to propose strategies to improve it. This study is based on the performance of the health sector of Hamedan province, and it was conducted using three methods such as SWOT analysis, focus group (FG), and quantitative strategic planning matrix (QSPM). The results show that the most important strategies for improving the role of knowledge management in dealing with crises such as COVID-19 are the creation of organizational units in charge of implementing knowledge management in various health and treatment sectors, recognition and appreciation of effective and outstanding people in dealing with COVID-19 and increasing the commitment of senior managers to support the implementation of knowledge management. The important thing to mention in this connection is to pay attention to all knowledge management processes and attract the participation of all members of society in dealing with the COVID-19 crisis.
