Knowledge based metaphor interpretation

Abstract

In this paper we outline a computational model to interpret linguistic metaphors. In our computational model, we first obtain a syntactic parser's output for an utterance and then check if there is any strain on the primary meaning to recognise the metaphor. After recognising the metaphor we attempt to interpret the metaphor using conventional metaphorical knowledge.
