Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic has been a serious cause of death worldwide. It is caused by a SARS-CoV-2 belonging to a family known as corona virus. The aim of this study was to assess the community knowledge, attitude and practice strategy implementation on SARS-CoV-2 disease 2019. A crosssectional survey was done from 10 February to 22 March 2022 in Surajkund Area Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Interviewer-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from 100 respondents. The majority of the respondents (82%, n = 82/100), (66%, n = 66/100), (59%, n = 59/100) knew fever, shortness of breath and dry coughing are the clinical symptoms of the disease, respectively. Vast majority of the surveyed participants of this study (87%, n = 87/100) frequently wash their hands with soap and water. COVID-19 has a great impact on the economy, politics and social interactions in the study area. Our ndings suggest that the community should practice the WHO recommendations to minimize the spread of the virus.
