Abstract

Introduction: The use of dental implants for the replacement of missing teeth has been increased by leaps and bounds ever since the concept of osseointegration has been identified and accepted. Aim and Objectives: The present study was conducted to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and awareness of the people toward dental implants. Materials and Methods: This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in Dr. HSRSM Dental College and Hospital, Hingoli. A total of 302 people was asked using a standard questionnaire. Results: While asking the information about dental implants, it was found that 58.7% of respondents were aware of it. About 54.2% consider high cost as the main barrier, followed by surgical procedure (19.5%) and long duration of treatment (26.3%). The attitude of respondents toward dental implants was found positive as 94.6% of them were curious about dental implant, and 82.9% want to get information from dentists only. Conclusions: To conclude with this survey, we found a very good knowledge, attitude, and awareness of individuals toward dental implants.
