Abstract

The descriptive research aims to determine the socio-demographic characteristics of the healthcare providers, the health workers’ knowledge of and attitudes towards computer applications and the relationship between socio-demographic characteristics of the healthcare providers and their knowledge of and attitudes towards computer applications.
 The study was conducted in the Rural Health Units of San Jose, Magsaysay, Rizal & Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro from March 2017 to June 2018. The 51 health workers were purposively selected as respondents of the study. Survey and interview were used to gather the data needed. Descriptive statistics and Pearson Moment Correlation were used to analyse the gathered data.
 Results shows the healthcare providers are female, young, college graduate, and have long work experience in the maternal and newborn care section and had assisted the rural health doctor during consultations. The healthcare providers have “high” level of knowledge on computer and its applications and had expressed “positive” attitudes towards the use of computers in their work.
 Further, only age has a significant relationship with the healthcare providers’ knowledge of and attitude towards computer applications.
