Abstract

This paper presents an automated knowledge acquisition system which is used in an expert systems building tool to build expert systems for applying fertilizer. A problem-oriented knowledge acquisition strategy and a rule—group knowledge representation approach in the form of rule—skeleton + rule—body are presented. The tool for building fertilization expert systems is introduced briefly. Using this tool, the domain expert that knows little AI techniques can construct an expert system directly without the aids of knowledge engineers.
