Abstract

Background: To describe the knowledge of monkeypox among students majoring in Preventive Medicine and Public Health at Hanoi Medical University in 2022 and several associated factors. Methods: A cross-sectional study, using self-administered questionnaire was conducted with 551 students. Multivariate logistic regression was performed to describe associated factors. Results: The proportion of students with good knowledge about monkeypox is 88.9%. In which the knowledge of female students is 2 times higher than that of male students (OR:2.0; 95% CI: 1.1 – 3.7). Students in subsequent years have higher knowledge than first-year students, except for fourth year. Conclusion: The proportion of preventive medicine and public health students with a good knowledge of monkeypox is relatively high. However, there has been no assessment on the sustainability. Therefore, providing appropriate and updated materials and training course for students on epidemics and responses is essential
