Abstract

In the history of Assyria, between the years 722-626 BC which is named as the Sargonid Period, Cimmerians’ entrance into Anatolia was one of the events that preoccupied the Assyrian kings. In this study, the history of the period is illuminated through the analysis of Ninive (Ninova) text and other related sources which help us to understand the intercourse between Anatolia and Assyria in the Ashurbanipal Period.
