Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the success of immediate provisionalization of anterior maxillary dental implants stabilized through palatinal cortical satellite implants. Material and Methods: 44 patients (29 f, 15 m, mean age 58 years) took part in a questionaire to assess implant survival rate and patient satisfaction. Each of those patients had received anterior maxillary implants stabilized through palatinal cortical satellite implants. 35 of the questioned patients were clincally examined to assess marginal bone loss, Periotest values, pocket depths and papilla presence index values. Results: The overall implant survival rate was 98 % (mean observation period 46 months). The mean marginal bone loss was 0,87 mm and the mean Periotest value was -0,02. Mean pocket depths reached from 1,72 to 2,3 mm. Analysis of the patients answers to the questionaire also confirmed their satisfaction with the implant treatment. Conclusion: The data of this study indicates that the immediate provisionalization of anterior maxillary implants stabilized through cortical satellite implants can be successful and achieve high patient satisfaction.
