Abstract

The author proposes to consider the history of Sino-Kazakh relations in the context of the traditional model of ancient Chinese diplomacy, which has recently had an increasingly significant impact on the formation of diplomatic approaches of the PRC with the outside world. The article shows the historical causes of the phenomenon of the “Chinese threat” in Kazakh society, its impact on the current state and level of development of cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.
