The article offers the author's insights on the transformation of the carnivore community in Africa. Topics discussed by the author include the discoveries of the key fossil sites in the continent, the decline in the number of carnivore species after the emergence of homo sapiens, and the studies conducted on the eating preferences of the African fossil carnivores.
