Abstract

Rate constant of the three-body recombination of fluorine atoms in a closed flow circulation reactor has been measured using ESR data at T=77 K and pressures ranging within 133–532 Pa. $$F + F + F_2 \to F_2 + F_2 $$ k=(3.9±0.8)×10−33 cm6·molec.−1s−1. Its interpolation formula for temperatures ranging within 77–300 K, k=4.2×10−30T−1.6 cm6melec−1s−1 is suggested. The probability of the heterogeneous recombination of fluorine atoms on the teflon surface has been determined.
