Abstract
The growth kinetics of new-phase clusters is considered starting from the moment of the critical nucleus formation. It is shown that the curvature of the growing cluster surface leads to the decrease of the process rate, as compared to that at the flat surface. Such a decrease is substantial up to a cluster size of 4 r cr . Afterwards, the cluster growth is similar to that at a flat surface. The time needed for the formation of such a stable nucleus is found.
