Abstract

Starting from Tresca's yield condition and the associated flow rule, at least for not-too-extensive deformations it becomes possible to reduce rigorously the title problem to one single second-order partial differential equation which might be solved numerically in a straightforward manner. Instead, an approximate analytical solution is derived and tentatively compared with experimental results from explosive sheet metal forming though the conditions are somewhat different.
