Abstract
Application of hydrostatic pressure induces a transition of a type-I (GaAs) 15/(AlAs) 5 superlattice (SL) to type-II character at P c = 1.2 GPa. The time-resolved femtosecond pump/probe measurements of the Γ-X electron transfer which is only possible in the case of type-II behavior show a square-root dependence on the energy separation Δ ΓX of Γ and X states: τ Γ−X −1 α ∞Δ 1 1 2 Γ X .We observe a shift of P c with carrier density to lower pressures. This shift is explained in terms of different renormalization of the Γ and X states.
