Abstract

The effect of boron polyoxide on the thermal degradation of polyvinyl alcohol is studied. Based on the results of thermogravimetric analysis, a kinetic model of thermal degradation of boric acid and polyvinyl alcohol is proposed taking into account the catalytic nature of the dehydration process and accelerated carbonization. The characteristic features of the mechanism of the processes are determined.
