Abstract

The polarization reversal (PR) in polycrystalline ferroelectrics under an external electric field is studied by means of the Monte-Carlo (MC) simulation. The Q-state Potts lattice is used to approach the external field-induced domain switching and a new MC algorithm is developed. The kinetics of partial PR in a mode multi-grained lattice as a function of electrical field is investigated in detail and compared with the conventional phenomenological theory. The present model presents a new approach of PR in polycrystalline ferroelectrics.
