Abstract

The extraction rate of palladium (II) from acidic aqueous chloride media with N,N-dioctylglycine in toluene was measured using a Lewis type stirred transfer cell to elucidate the extraction mechanism. It was found that the extraction mechanism can be explained by the classical heterophase homogeneous reaction model from the concentration dependencies of the chemical species on the extraction rate along with the aqueous solubility and interfacial adsorption equilibrium of the extractant.
