Abstract

Liquid-phase hydrogenation of benzene was studied over Rh catalyst supported on a carbon carrier sibunit between 13 and 100°C and in a hydrogen pressure range of 20–100 bar. Kinetic data were obtained under mass transfer-free conditions. Similar to gas-phase hydrogenation activity, a maximum with temperature was observed. A kinetic model consistent with thermodynamics was applied for numerical parameter estimation. Good correspondence between the experimental and calculated data was achieved.
