Abstract

Aerosol particles of ice growth and precipitation kinetics are investigated experimentally in a supercooled fog at 263 K. The kinetics are found to depend strongly on the moisture generation rate and on the initial ice crystal concentration. Simple parametric expressions are given for describing the growth and precipitation kinetics of particles and the ice crystal size distribution.
