Abstract

AbstractThe kinetics of uptake at 25° of 0.01 N HCl by dimethylamine‐aminated macroporous resins depend in a complex manner on the porosity of the resin. While pure C‐ and P‐kinetics are observed respectively at the nonporous and highly macroporous ends of the porosity scale, under the experimental conditions employed the diffusional and chemical fluxes are similar in magnitude, and either pseudo‐P or pseudo‐C kinetics may be shown at intermediate porosity levels, of which three examples have been examined.
