Abstract
The kinetic model of Fischer-Tropsch chain growth as a non-trivial surface polymerization is developed and applied to discuss olefin/paraffin selectivity. The probability of the olefin chemidesorption-reaction, which controls primary olefin selectivity, is derived from experimental data as a function of temperature and total pressure. Secondary olefin hydrogenation and olefin double bond shift are identified in the system as interrelated reactions.
