Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this work is to use a diffusion layer model for the determination of individual rate constants of reaction and diffusion step of KCl at 30 °C. Crystal growth rate was measured by travelling microscope technique. From the measured values of the mean linear growth rate the resulting individual rate constants and the effectiveness factors (GARSIDE) are evaluated as a function of the driving force and of the flow velocity of solution. The significance of diffusional and surface reaction resistances against mass transfer is discussed in relation to the experimental conditions used.
