Abstract

A study of copper incorporation in aqueous solution into tetra (2-N-methylpyridyl)porphine, is reported. In contrast to other porphyrins, this ortho isomer remains in the free base (H/sub 2/P) form in acidic solution. The rate law and activation parameters are compared with the more basic 3- and 4-N-methyl isomers.
