Abstract

In this study, the attapulgite (ATP) was modified by Fe and Ce with the method of impregnation-roasting, and the degradation of Methylene Blue (MB) in the presence of ozone was investigated. The results showed that the degradation rate of 80 mg/L MB wastewater could reach about 94%, when the ozone flow rate is 250 mL/min, the reaction temperature is 35 ℃, the catalyst is 0.4 g, and the initial pH of the solution is 7. The characterization results of the modified ATP showed that the Fe3+ and Ce4+ had been successfully loaded on the gravimetric clay. Finally, the degradation mechanism of MB was speculated, and the reaction kinetic equation was obtained. The model fit and reliability are good.
