Abstract

Diffusion of a particle in a medium in the presence of absorbing traps of various size is considered. A theory describing the kinetics of particle trapping in the entire interval of time is suggested. Analytical relations for the probability of a particle survival in situations when many-body effects are weak and when they dominate are obtained. It is shown that polydispersity of traps leads to the slowdown of particle trapping and to attenuation of many-body effects inherent in the problem.
