Abstract

1. Simple analytical expressions have been obtained for approximating the time-dependent kinetic curve and local adsorbate distribution for adsorption in a cylindrical charcoal grain with impermeable side walls, diffusion in transport pores being the limiting step in the adsorption process. 2. The theoretical relations developed here can be used for interpreting results from the radioscopy of charcoal sorbents in experiments on the adsorption of x-ray-differentiable substances, as well as the results from ordinary gravimetric kinetic experiments.
