Abstract

The rate constants for a unimolecular transition in the thermochromic benzoquinone/ quinol system were determined by d.c. polarography (stationary method) and by the temperature-jump technique (transient method). In the optimal concentration range for polarography a fairly good agreement of the kinetic parameters obtained by both methods was found. The thermodynamic parameters of the investigated reaction are determined.
