Abstract
Electron spin relaxation (ESR) in the gas phase is treated using the Waldman—Snider kinetic equation for polyatomic gases. Although only the simplest case, that of 2Σ molecules, is treated here, it is already sufficient to bring out all of the relevant features and to illustrate the procedure to be employed for gases of more complicated molecules.
