Abstract

The classical Klimontovich equation for the microsocopic phase space density is given a Weyl quantization. As an example of its application, a simple nonequilibrium jelliumtype model for metallic clusters in strong fields is considered and the corresponding quantum kinetic equation is discussed. The treatment of collective excitations in such an inhomogeneous plasma is described briefly.
