Abstract

1. A kinetic equation of the deformation type consisting of four terms, each of which takes into consideration the damage and deformation of a different type, and which makes it possible to determine the conditions of failure in an arbitrary loading and heating program is proposed. 2. It is shown that the results of tests made by different authors under conditions of different loading programs are correctly described within the limits of particular cases of the proposed criterion equation of failure. The rms deviation of the experimental and calculated life times is 46.5%.
