Abstract
With means of cinemicrographic methods it is tried to determine absolute values (2Kinwo) for the water permeability of tonoplasts of the inner epidermis cells ofAllium cepa bulbs as exactly as possible. Compared with uninjured protoplasts, tonoplasts show a water permeability which is mostly 20–30 times higher, largely independent on various kinds of pretreatment and/ or influences on the cell.
