Abstract

Counter experiments for measuring three-particle final states are considered. The natural variables arising in connection with these experiments are momentum transfers to the detected particles and missing masses. The lab values of the particle momenta corresponding to fixed values of these variables, the conditions needed for the separation of unique three-particle channels, and the values of these variables accessible in counter experiments are determined. The required resolutions in momenta and angles are given.
