Abstract

Abstract Thermoluminescence dosemeters routinely used for electron, photon and neutron personnel dosimetry have been used to monitor exposures up to 2000 Gy (2 x 105 rad). The system, manufactured by Teledyne Isotopes, was used to answer certain shielding questions arising in the control rod drive room of the Big Rock Point Nuclear Power Station. The useful upper exposure limit of CaSO4:Dy-Teflon has been extended by a factor of 2 to 10 over values quoted in popular references.
