Abstract
My book, Where Islam and Judaism Join Together: A Perspective on Reconciliation, was published, ironically, just as the new cycle of bloodshed erupted in Israel and the Palestinian territories. The violence began when three Jewish teenagers in the West Bank were kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian militants. Shortly after, in a revenge attack, a Palestinian teenager was abducted and burned to death by Israeli extremists. As a result, these barbaric acts turned into a full-blown military confrontation between Israel and Hamas in which many Palestinian children in Gaza lost their lives. Children have reportedly been used by Hamas leaders, who hide among civilians, as human shields against Israeli attacks.
