Abstract

The order Hymenoptera consists of a variety of stinging insects which include honey bees, yellow jackets, hornets andwasps. Allergic manifestations to their stings are well recognized but the complications leading to acute kidney injury isless common. We report a 2 years old male child who survived after an unusually severe envenomation following multiplewasp stings resulting in hypertension, intravascular hemolysis, rhabdomyolysis, renal failure and multi-organ dysfunction.
