Abstract

This paper presents the results of research on corrosion inhibition effect on ST3 steel of two-component corrosion inhibitor consist of dimethylethanolamine (DMAE) and isoprpanol (IPA). The electrochemical test results showed that the inhibition effect on ST3 steel corrosion in 0.1M NaCl solution of the 2-component inhibitor is highest at the optimal mixing ratio 1:1. At the same concentration of 0.5%, protective effect on ST3 steel reached 67.67% which is equivalent to that of Russian ИФХАН-8 inhibitor. After 16 cycles of testing by the method of heat-humidity acceleration with moisture condensation and evaluation by the mass loss method, the inhibitor at a concentration of 100g/m3 was effective in protecting steel over 99% and reached 100% at a concentration of 150g/m3.
