Abstract

Al-Quran contains the comprehensive codes for the Muslims to live a good, faithful and rewarding life in obedience to the commandments of Allah. It is the principle book of a Muslim's faith and practice. The Al-Quran deals with all subjects that concern us as human beings, including wisdom, doctrine, worship and law especially on the subject of the relationship between Allah and His creatures. As a result, the Al-Quran has been translated into a variety of languages to assist Muslims around the globe to understand and refer to the Al-Quran. A number of studies have gained popularity to study the unseen knowledge categories and relationship of subject matters discussed in the Al-Quran or the Tafseer. This research investigates the relationships between verses and chapters at the keyword level using a combination technique of text mining and network analysis to discover non-trivial patterns and relationships of verses in different chapter in a Malay translated Tafseer. The discovery of the relationships between verses and chapters benefits the Muslims and Islamic scholars to make full use of the Al-Quran in their daily and also formal practices.
