Abstract
<p indent="0mm">The three-step development strategy of the China manned space project culminates in the construction and operation of the space station. The Tiangong space station aims at creating a national space laboratory and platform for international scientific as well as technological cooperation. The station will comprise the Tianhe core module and two experimental modules: Wentian and Mengtian. This study briefly introduces the system scheme of the Tiangong space station and analyzes its technical characteristics with reference to Mir and International Space Station based on system optimization, integration of new and advanced technology, high cost-effectiveness, safety, efficiency of astronauts, and expansion capability are summarized. These parameters reflect the technical achievements and innovation of the Tiangong space station.
